The Emporia Electric Vehicle Charging Station is a Level 2 electric vehicle charger that charges any EV up to 40 amps with NEMA 14-50P or up to 48 amps with hardwired installation. It comes with a 24’ cable with an SAE J1772 connector so it works with all electric cars. Its watertight black or white NEMA Type 4 enclosure is made to withstand the elements outdoors. Covered by a 3-year warranty when installed in North America per the instructions in the installation guide.

Solar only EV Charging
Pair the Emporia EV Charger with an Emporia Gen 2 Vue or Vue: Utility Connect Energy Monitor to automatically charge only when you are producing excess solar. Charging is turned on and the charge rate is increased until the generation is optimally consumed — lowering the impact on your energy bill and making sure you get the most out of your solar panels.
Works with Any EV
The Emporia Smart Home Energy Charger comes with a SAE J1772 connector so it works with all electric cars, including, but not limited to the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6 and Niro, Nissan Leaf, Audi e-Tron, Ford Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lighting, Volkswagen ID.4, and Rivian R1T.
The Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y have proprietary connectors and require a J1772 adapter.
Rebates and incentives
The Emporia Smart Home EV Charger qualifies for a Federal alternative fuel tax credit for 30% of the cost of the charger and installation (up to $1,000).
